The X-Factor

The X-Factor, The timing could hardly be worse for Simon Cowell and The X Factor, which returns to ITV on Saturday. The 12th series begins in the same week that One Direction, the programmes biggest success story, have announced that they are “taking a well-earned break”. Everyone knows that by “break” they mean “pursue solo careers with varying levels of success” – but could the show that made them the worlds biggest boyband face a similar dissolution?Theres no denying that The X Factor is on the ropes. Ratings for the 2014 series fell to a 10-year low and those who did watch voted Ben Haenow, a man begging to have “gone tomorrow” tacked on to his surname, as their winner. In fact, he was the third unsuccessful winner in a row after Sam Bailey (dropped earlier this year) and James Arthur, whose sideline in recording homophobic rap songs proved problematic for his label. With their failure looming large and the beginning of the end for One D, taking part in the show looks less like a fContinue Reading…

10 Items Youll Regret Buying Too Cheaply

10 Items Youll Regret Buying Too Cheaply, PRICE VS. QUALITY
This is a nation of bargain hunters, addicted to thrift, but there are times the cheapest option just doesnt make sense. An item is no bargain when it must be replaced often; when more must be used to do the job; or when the cost in aggravation exceeds the cost in dollars. Instead, look for discounts on high-quality items, and even try haggling. Whatever you do, dont scrimp on these 10 things — you get what you pay for.TOILET PAPER
The cheapest toilet paper is single-ply and needs to be folded over several times to be useable. Theres no savings when the rolls run out so much faster. And why use a product thats scratchy and rough? Paper towels are a similar case: The cheap stuff falls apart easily, requiring more to soak up the same spills.MATTRESS
Everyone needs a good nights sleep to function properly, and anything that helps the cause is worth a splurge. Although price doesnt necessarily correlate with quality in this mContinue Reading…

What Do You Mean Justin Bieber

What Do You Mean Justin Bieber, The first look at Justin Biebers What Do You Mean video is here and you guys, its h-o-t. JB strips down and has an intense hook up with former model, Xenia Deli, in underwear and thats just in the super short sneak peek — which feels very movie-like!You thought you were obsessed with the song, “What Do You Mean?” Well now youre about to freak out even more. Beauty Behind The Madness

Beauty Behind The Madness, In his new video for “Tell Your Friends,” Abel Tesfaye — better known as the Weeknd — buries a man alive against a desert horizon at dusk. As he finishes the job and strides through the desolate landscape in step with the songs slurry, slow-motion pace (“Tell Your Friends” sounds, somehow, like if “Benny and the Jets” were a Drake song), the camera looks up at him from his feet, like hes a larger-than-life antihero in a John Ford movie. At some point, another person approaches; Tesfaye draws his gun without effort and shoots them down. The video offers no narrative explanation as to why he does this — I guess were supposed to assume that hes the kind of guy whod shoot a man in Reno just to watch him die. “This aint the right time for you to fall in love with me,” Tesfaye will warn with a bluesy swagger a little later in this record, The Beauty Behind the Madness, but by then weve gotten the message: This guy is bad news, baby. It wouldnt be any clearer if he Continue Reading…

Kids Are Being Bullied To Skip Lunch At School

Kids Are Being Bullied To Skip Lunch At School, Anti-bullying curriculum has created a generation of kids who are much more aware of overt, classic bullying. However, bullying and peer pressure take many forms, and at times can be very difficult to spot. One alarming trend happening in some school cafeterias is kids facing pressure to not eat lunch, or to eat much less than they actually want. This troubling practice is becoming more common, according to Dana Thompson, a registered dietitian who works with families through her diabetes practice in Glendale, Arizona. “One of the things that is being reported is the significant amount of peer pressure exerted by certain girls to not eat lunch,” she says. “Girls are avoiding eating or throwing out their lunch for fear of rejection by cliques.”Thompson explains this is an act of bullying because it appears to be pressure applied purposefully – that is, the victim is targeted with dirty looks if she eats her lunch or indirect statements inContinue Reading…
